专业概括

The Visual Effects and Editing for Contemporary Media program is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate program designed to prepare creative and disciplined students for a career in the Post Production industry. The program focuses on professional techniques, terminology and software used for video and audio editing, motion graphics, 3D animation, compositing and Visual FX.

Students will improve their Post Production knowledge and skills through individual and group assignments, practical instruction, independent learning, tutorials and research. The program includes an opportunity for client services, internship within the post industry across Canada, as well as self-directed portfolio projects.

Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English by one of the following methods:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test with a minimum score of 88 for the Internet-based test (iBT), with test results within the last two years.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic test with an overall score of 6.5 with no score less than 6.0 in any of the four bands, with test results within the last two years.  SDS Program Requirements.

  • Apply advanced Post Production concepts while working collaboratively in the industry.
  • Analyze and critique professional projects using proper terminology.
  • Operate Post Production industry standard computer software and hardware.
  • Combine and manipulate audio, video, graphics and animation elements.
  • Manage and organize large amounts of media, files and documents on digital devices.
  • Model, render and integrate 3D elements into video projects using professional techniques.Trouble shoot and problem solve video and computer issues during the creation Post Production projects.
  • Edit and mix audio elements for use in video productions.
